Purchasing Assistant

Allpack is growing fast and we are always on the lookout for great people. We are currently specifically looking for a Purchasing Assistant to help take us forward into 2020 and beyond.
THE POSITION
The mission of this role is to ensure that stock is optimised between the need for stock to fulfil sales orders on time and in full, and the need to maintain stock levels as low as possible. Stock availability is a driver of sales and profit, but excess stock consumes cash and the challenge in this role is to find the balance. The role is a key driver in our sales, profit and cash growth targets.
You will be highly organised and efficient and able to move quickly to cope with shifting demands. You will be analytical and able to process data and spot underlying trends which may require a shift in strategy for individual stock lines. Prior experience in purchasing is desirable but a sharp mind, excellent IT skills and a willingness to work hard and learn quickly are more important traits.

PROGRESSION OPPORTUNITIES
Progression for the right candidate would include the opportunity to become involved in strategic procurement of new product lines and negotiation with suppliers to obtain better terms. Longer term progression could include a Purchasing Manager position.
